By theway how are the compatability with these units and the MPC 1000. I'm guessing it is about the same as the 2000. I read how the mpc has a function where you can play the sounds directly into the mpc sequence. I tried it with a cheap keyboard before and it didn't work. Enlighten please.

the compatability is fine with the 1k. no probs.

the bread and butter sounds are still excellent.

i have a proteus 1000. i guess the Proteus keys have the same patches of sounds with a few less i think.

but you get like Nylon guitars, electric guitars, Pianos, Rhodes, Bells, Basses, Sfx, Strings, Percussions and Kits, Organs, and loads more.

the sound quality is very very nice and you wont regret it.

timbaland has a proteus 2000.

but think...with the emu, you get a whole pallete of sounds, realtime filter controls, the keys, and expansion for emu rom cards, so that you can stick in the Pure Phatt sample rom board (from the mo phatt sound module in there).

the other synths you listed are very analogue type and will limit you when you need a nice Rhodes sound for instance, or a Guitar sound.

get the Proteus keys.

or a Proteus 1000 (that way you get all the Emu Proteus 2000/1000 sounds (over 1500) as apposed to like 600 something.

and get a cheap midi keyboard like one that i have (a roland pc180 controller) for like 60 / 70 bucks.

Why don't you PM me and explain these Midid controllers to me. I'm really kind of lost on them. I saw a oxygen 8 for like one hundred bones. What do you do hook a rack to them.

check the midi tutorial on this site, it should help you out. Otherwise, doo a google search for midi tutorial and do some research.

It won't take as long as it would to write it all out. Many have already done so.

I have a Proteus 2000 sound module with the Mo phatt and Planet earth expansion in it and they've got some dope sounds.
