I have a Stanton STR 8-30 turntable plugged into a Rolls Phono Pre-Amp, and that plugged straight into my MPC.... and when i got to the sample screen on my MPC it's this loud buzz, then when i turn the turntable on, it gets even louder, what causes this? and how can i minimize it?you cant have the thing playing back while your recording. It generates feedback because its hearing it self like if you took a mic and put it next to your speaker and makes a squeel. You should put the turntable on one channel on your mixing like channel 9 if you got the 8-Outs. Then Use a Pre-Send to send the sound to the MPC and have the MPC going into the return. When you sample just lower the return all the way so just the channel with the deck on it is on by it self. Sample then goto trim THEN turn the mpcs volume back up.
I wouldnt hook it up like this
deck-->pre-amp--->MPC
Hook it up like this
deck--->pre-amp--->mixer--->mpc
mpc--->Mixers return
About records sample from like funk and soul and 60s-70s rock
Most records in this era 1960-1979 were pretty funky and had mad breaks. Find stuff with spaceships and words like cosmic, psycadellic, or funky, groovin and look for afros. look at that other post.
