what kind of monitors are you guys using?

i'm looking into getting some nearfield monitors.. but still in that research phase. im either going with mackie hr824s, hr624s, tannoy reveals, or genelec 1029a..

any thoughts?

My absolute all-time favorite monitors are the Mackie 824's. I've used every monitor on your list, except the 624's, and there's no comparison. Most everyone likes those 824's. Some cats dig those Genelec's. They sound strange in the top end to me. Studio standard nearfields would be NS-10's, but I don't truly enjoy music through them. The 824's are sweet.

ive got spirit absolute 2s.They need an amplifier, which im searching for.
They are pretty neutral and affordable. One reason i got them, was because 2 of sydneys prominent hip hop makers use them for mixing.
now i pose a question.... is there such thing as a mixer that is better suited to one type of music..... i mean neutral is neutral isnt it?

nice. im leaning towards the 824s. they sound the best at the moment although they hit the pockets deep. but i figure you get what you pay for..

I'm using the KRK V6's. I like em. The top is pretty true without being harsh or middle-y. The bottom is pretty fat without being boomy or boxy.
