it didnt have vga hook up......it would transmit all the settings, and create a wave form on the screen it aid with sharp editing........its a nice program for the older Roland Vs daws.

yo phatz , thanx for the info!!!! as of right now, im not using computers in my lab, but if I start to, I will check that software out!!!

yo Remedial, the roland vs series has MAAAAD effects!!!! Im just now getting into the idea of sampling something with the mpc, then recording that sample to the mixer, applying some cool roland effects, then sampling it back to the mpc! crazy options man. Some INSANE effects in that thing!

What up PRAH!!!!! yo, i almost copped the dps 12!!!! I thought it looked cool and all, and hey, it was made by akai! but my boy used to f*ck with roland, so I knew I could get tips! also, I just walked into daddies junky music and that vs890 was like, glowin and sh!t, just callin my name- "D-Struction!!!!! D-Struction!!!!!! Cop me!!!!!!" hhahahahaa :lol:

My only question about the 880 effects is whether or not they come on board or you have to buy the card to get them? Or does the card just give you more effects?

yo, im pretty sure it comes with the effects. my 890 did, but then again it was used. Its a crazy lil machine though. those effects are ill

It seems like the unit itself comes with some effects but then you have to buy the VS8F-1 Effect Expansion Board if you want to use multiple instances of the effects. As far as what I've ascertained, you can only use 2 effects simultaneously withouth the cards.

thats correct. but with a little creativity, and some bouncing of tracks, you can freak it without the expansion board. It would be convienient though

I used to use a vs880EX, I think it had two effect processors, but I could be wrong. Only had it for a couple of months though.
