foot pedal for the mpc

hey, i'm hoping to get a foot pedal for my mpc so i can use it simultaneously with me drum set in a band. i'm pretty sure this works but have no idea on what to get or how to go about it. if anyone can drop some info for me i'd be greatful.

First of what mpc do u have ?
An mpc2000(xl) has no dedicated footswitch connector so therefor you will need a midi footswitch or a little conversion box that translates the signals of a normal footswitch to the appropriate midi signal.
For the mpc60 you can use a normal footswitch.

i have an mpc 2000xl. so i'm thinking i should get a midi foot controller. i think the 2000xl allows for 4 assignable switchs. i've tried to look up info on this but i couldn't really come up with anything. maybe you could make some suggestions on what kind of gear would be best for this?
