Saying get PT because it's industry standard is a bit
My opinion is that i just don't like PT for midi. It's **** compared to Cubase, but i'm biased because i've been using Cubase for longer.
If you plan on doing more electronic styles then i wouldn't bother with PT
If you plan on recording bands, doing post production, editing audio then Pro-tools is good, but have a go on PT before you waste money on it.
It may be 'industry standard' but it's not for everyone. And not ALL studios use pro-tools. Some use Cubase or Logic. Thats what i hate about Pro-Tools. The whole you HAVE to use our interfaces and DAW thing. Pro-Tools training is waste too. Spending £$$$$££££££ just to learn keyboard shortcuts?
