USB recording device questions

i guess anyway you look at it you still need a patch bay if you have more than 8 inputs. 8 is definitly better than four. installing a pci sound is pretty simple also.

what do u use digi? I'm looking at this E-MU 1212M that was recommended

EMU 1212M seems like a better card than mine (I've got a ST Audio DSP2000 and a C-Port breakout box).

I'm in a similar place as vakseen and have been considering the ADA8000 and emu 1212m hookup for a while,
Djames I was wondering though how you use a mixer in this setup, do you put the mixer inbetween the 8 and your mpc, do I need a mixer?

not if ur using software. u can do the leveling from there.

i forgot to say that you are going to need a fast harddrive 7200 rpm. if you are going to record 8 tracks at once and then add more tracks.
