Getting a MPC Need Help deciding which one to Buy

I Have 1200 Bucks and im looking to buy A MPC Today which would U get the MPC1000,MPC2000xl Blue,Or a Used MPC2000xl white for 800 Bucks And whats the diffrents in The white ones and the new blue Ones other then the zip drive.

~Only difference from the blue and beige XL is color! What else do u have in yur setup? Is the mpc the only piece u will have for production? If so I would get a XL but If u have some software programs u might want to look at the mpc 1000! But if u dont like to deal wit software I would get the blue XL wit the internal zip!

If you're comfortable switching back and forth from your pc to you mpc, and you don't mind the smaller pads then go for the 1000.

If you don't want to use software with your mpc, and you like a bigger more sturdy machine then go with the xl.

Since I'm a cheapskate, I'd go for the used XL (make sure it's working well and see if it has 32MB ram, a zip drive and so on.) That would save about $700. With that I'd get some monitors or software for my computer like MPC Editor or MPCPGMMaker and some records or CDs or sample collections.

Or if you want to go for an even cheaper route, you could go with the 2000. It has no timestretching, but if you're really on a tight budget then it's worth looking into...

Summary of differences between MPC2000 and MPC2000XL

Yeah I've been using the timestretch more and more lately...
Dunno if I could do without it!

Given all the problems that occur with the 1000, and there are a wide variety, I would not recommend the purchase of a 1000 until the OS is sorted out and the bugs are gone (if that ever happens). So go with the XL, I would go used unless you like the blue better.

Don't go for the blue one... You can get a used xl much cheaper and paint it yourself!

I like the 2K better than the XL, just a thought.

why would you wait to get the 1000 till the os bugs are fixed when you can just upgrade to the new os. if you want the xl get the used one and paint it. put if u want the 1000 then get it. the bugs arent really a big issue i havent had ANY problems.
