Hiss and Crackles

Hey guys,

I got a lil' home studio going on but it's not perfect yet. My recording set is a MPC 1000(JJ OS2), fastrack pro usb interface and Ableton Live 6 running in a Dell P3 Laptop. Everything seems to be fine except that when I hook up my MPC stereo out(even mix out) to the audio-in of my fastrack interface...it doesn't get a perfect signal. I would always hear that hiss and crackle type noise. I'm wondering if anyone is aware of this problem and that can help me solve this. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

maybe your level is too high and its clipping?

i have a firewire 410 and it was doing this out of nowhere once, i just re updated the drivers and it works like a charm now!
