I saw a similar question and answer posted here pertaining to the es model of the motif, but no matter what i try my sounds still change. Here is the problem:
I have a motif rack xs that is connected to my mpc 2500 le through a midi cord. The cord is connected to the motif's midi in and the mpc's midi out A.
When I record my piano sound from the motif into track 1 of the mpc, Then switch the motif sound to drums so that I can lay a drum track in the mpc on track 2, the piano that i laid in track one turns into drums.
I have troubleshooted and already did the following:
1. Switch type to midi
2. program to no. 1
3. midi to 1A, 2A, depending on the track
4. hit window on no. 1 and turned bank select to yes (also tried no)
msb to 63
lsb to zero
transmit program chnages is on yes (also tried the off position)
I changed the receive channels for the rack to omni.
Anything will help, thanks.

Once again what he is trying to do is to have two voices play from the motif at once, While it is controlled/recorded by the MPC. Like I said before the rack versions have no sequencer so therefore I do not think that it can be achieved. I have it working fine, but I have the ES6 which does have a 16 trk sequencer so therefore I can create a song using all 16 trks from the motif, 16 trks from my Triton and still have 32 tracks left from the MPC, while controlling everything from the MPC. That would suck if it is not possible to use more than one voice at a time when using a rack module, I was thinking about picking up the MOTIF XS RACK, But if I can only use one track at a time along with my MPC, I guess I'll be buying the board itself. Good Luck To those of you who have the Rack Module, Please let me know if you figure it out!
