Thoughts on new emu 1212m sound card

I wanna get that emu 1212m sound card cuz its better than any other card in its price range ( $ 199), but its lacking mtc , isnt mtc how u get the recorder to control, such as start and stop, the mpc at the touch of a button ? The emu 1212m also includes cubasis and i think it has mtc in the software so am i ok ? Is there a difference between hardware mtc and software mtc ? Im a newbie to recording so any adice is apreciated.

I have this card and it is dope! It is not lacking MTC either. MTC stands for Midi Time Code. The 1212M has midi inputs and outputs, so as long as your MPC is connected you can make your software the master and when you press play it will trigger the MPC. I do this with my MPC and Nuendo 2.0. The card is the truth though definitely worth your $199.
