Madlib 2000xl
Jurrasic Five 2000xl
RJD2 2000xl
DJ Spinna 3000
Necro ASR-10
Q-Tip MPC (maybe 2k or 3k?)
Ali shaheed Mohamumed See above

I think the 2kxl is the most popular MPC sold. 3000-60 II are not even being made anymore. So the real *******s are still usin them. 2000 is dope but also discontinued. 4000 is for more advanced beat maker. And the MPC 1000 just appeared. So the 2kxl is the main one be sold new and resold used. Oh yeah and the SP1200 is hard to get and is old, but still mad nice

Hip Hop producers being rockin keyboard samplers and workstations all the time also.

ASR-10
Triton
Ensoniq ES10
Motif
Fantoms

Of yeah Kvee buy technique 1200s for turntable. The cadallic of turntables. Along with a Vestax PMC-05 Mixer.

I'ma just give you a list of some producer's main weapon's of choice here as I know:

Dr. Dre - he uses a lot of shit but mainly MPC3000 and like workstations like the Korg Triton

Pete Rock - SP-1200 used to be his thing, but recently he stepped up to a MPC2000XL which I think was a mistake cause his beats were better before.

Neptunes - Mad Keyboards ASR-10 used to be but I have no clue what they use now.

Kanye West - MPC2000XL and the ASR-10... His go to machine is the ASR-10 and he used it a lot on his album, but he been gettin away from that and usin the MPC more and more.

Timbaland - ASR-10 to the death... This man has and always will swear by by this machine... now more than ever because he's been gettin that real old school vibe like he used on missy's album... I can't blame him cause it's been workin this long... why **** up a good thing.

DJ Premier - MPC 60 and the E-Mu Mo Phatt... Though you can't judge his equipment cause his production is all about how he uses it cause he is a master of compression and EQ

Madlib - Anything that is labeled inadequate, behind the times, or a beginner piece of equipment has been used by this man... He was using a Dr. Rhythm for a while... Then he was using a Boss SP-303... Then some other cheap shitty sampler with like 10 seconds of sampling time and shitty sounds... Now he's been using the SP-12 which I'm glad to see cause his beats are better than ever...

Madlib is the shit because he proves that it's not the equipment, but the producer that makes the beats what they are... SO big up to Madlib for doing his thing and keepin it old school throughout it all while still maintaining some of the most innovative beats in the underground.

Recent list given by madlib was SP1200 (he's been using that for ever, since before lootpack and shit, and it's on the back cover of Madvillain)
MPC 3000, MPC 4000, Boss SP 303.

He used a 2000 on YNQ, but the 3000 I suspect replaced it since he saw Dilla's. His Brother Oh No uses a 2k or 2kxl.

I really can't see him using the 4000, but who knows.

A lot of his Rhodes playing on Madvillain too.

Pete Rock never abandoned the Sp 1200,

For my buck, the best piece of equipment you can have in your arsenal is a crate full of the right records. Make or break.

dont forget the SSL mixer, and Neive and Avalon Dynamics, Moog synths ect ect..., those definately cant be forgotten when speaking of top quality producers and their gear....
