Looks like Roland tryin to take over mos def! AKAI better step up before they lose alot of customers! Roland made the MV-8000 to compete wit the MPC 4000 then Roland has the sp-606 to compete wit the MPC 1000! Uhh OHHH AKAI...... Roland is gunnin for u!

Has this thing been released yet? I can't find pricing on it when doing a internet search. If anyone one knows how much this going for I'd like to know!

hmm, I don't know what to think about this... it looks larger than the mp1K.

Naw Lou-One the sp-606 is not out yet but I think its aim'd towards the MPC 1000 mos def! Roland comes out wit the MV-8000[that was also aim'd at a AKAI product the 4k] I heard da MV-8000 is nice too! Sleep on Roland if u want to they might take over later down the road when all the MPC users give up on them buggy as@ OS's! If the sp-606 is cheaper then the MPC 1000 AKAI might have a problem!

What yall think? :?:

Thats like driving a 2 cylinder car!

Roland is always trying to copy some other companys products in a cheap and "prosumer" fashion....even if this is released as competition for the mpc 1000 i dont trust that it is anywhere close to as good....sure it may have some features that the mpc 1000 doesnt but its still just a consumer product not professional any way you shake it...at least the mpc OS is proven even if the 1000 still has so called bugs (mine hasnt had any problems as of yet)...I still trust Akai to make a better product than Roland any day.....maybe if it was 1987 and were still the days of analog I would probably choose Roland...

Competition is good for us, the end users. This one looks kind of cheesy though...
