MPC2500 Fallin' Apart!!!

Copped my MPC2500 2 years ago brand new. Never really experienced any problems with the machine all this time and now it has started to fall apart. Pad sensors - PAD 9 to PAD 16 - dead. Other pads are also dying, they do not respond anymore at times or trigger another pad say if i hit PAD 3 it triggers PAD 1. Also buttons like MODE, + - buttons and some of the number buttons have to be hit really hard to respond. On top of that i just discovered that the Record Ins L & R do not work, together with the 8 Assignable Mix Outs ( since it's the same board). Never used them since i got the MP so that tells me that i was sold an MP with a bad 8 I/O board. I know that the pad sensors can be replaced, buttons as well. Probably will have to replace the I/O board too. Just wonder if anyone of you guys have experienced similar issues with the MP ? I know these machines are built to last, but lookin' at all the issues i'm havin' 2500 doesn't seem to be that durable. On top of this i heard AKAI has discontinued the MPC2500, rumors are there were too many issues with this particular model. Also has anyone noticed the difference in customer service when AKAI was AKAI and after it's been taken over by Numark?

i think the beat kangz are getting desperate or something... there is an obvious AKAI smear campaign as of late. has anyone else noticed the abundance of new members that sign up only to post about how cheaply built AKAI products are?? don't get me wrong, i'm well aware of AKAI's lack of quality in their current products as well as their two-faced ways of doing customer support... but c'mon son!! this dude just named everything that could ever go wrong with an MPC and then some... i mean, unless that MPC got raped in the flash drive hole by a leper robot with AIDS how the fvck is it gonna just suddenly have all those issues from one day to the next!!?? we already know how badly the kangz wanna take AKAI's spot... and the mpc1000 and 2500 sections have been getting flooded with nothing but these kind of extreme issue cases which i've personally never encountered in real life... yes the MPC's do have some issues and like any piece of gear do require some maintenance [maybe a bit more than usual with the tact switches], but i call bullsh!t on this thread here... sorry...

I dont think its just beatkangs. There are alot of competitors wanting the mpc marketshare.

That beatkang machine is a cornball piece. I do hope Roger Linn makes an updated and improved MPC with the linndrum ii.

Besides, isn't the 2500 the one with the least amount of issues of the new generation Nukai mpc's?

WTF is this shit!? Beat Kangz? Don't even know who da f..k they are!!! Ah yeah, saw them one time in a Scratch Mag on some lame ass drum machine they be tryin to push in to the market, that's about all i know about them.
First of all, i do treat my gear nicely, as a musical instrument should be treated. I love Akai MPC line and i do believe it's the best piece of gear hands on period!!! There is no way i would post to discredit the MPC 2500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's just that i feel like i'm bumpin' in to the wall with all them customer service m**********s of Numark, who seem to have no interest in helpin' a brother out even though it's the product they represent. How would you feel if you called them looking for pad sensors replacement and they tell you oh yeh we got them will ship it to you if there are any problems we will let you know. Next thing after a week of waiting i get the invoice of them deducting money from my credit card then puttin' it back and no sensors. Called them back again now guess what they got a lady sittin' there at the technical support who doesn't have any f****n clue about the MPC's and here she tells me sorry we don't have the sensors you looking for in stock at the moment and will not have them till March 18th (it was middle Dec when i spoke to them). Then i sent an email to them requesting about the I/O board if i can purchase it from them. It's been a week since i've emailed them - no reply. For me i got the impression of being totally neglected as i was enquiring about the MPC2500 and at one point she mentioned somethin' to me that this product is discontinued and i got the impression that they don't want to be helpful at all as i was looking to get help about this particular model.
Before i got my MP i did a research that these machines are built to last 10 years and more!!! Really didn't expected all this shit to go wrong in my case and it did not happen from one day to the next!!! The pad sensors seem to wear out gradually and the buttons as well. Also discovering that the 8 I/O board is not working on the machine really got me frustrated as i said i never used it in 2 years, and just recently discovered that it doesn't work, so the MP that i got was with a defect i believe at the time of purchase.
What would you do if you got say a Mercedes SL AMG and start to experience few issues here and there technically with it. Some people would sling a **** right and get another one. Well i wouldn't as i feel i have a relationship with my peace of gear and i'ma do anything to get it fixed and running.
I guess i'ma have to say **** Numark and go with the mpcstuff.com to get my parts ( even though i think they are way overpriced!!!).

Only wanted to get some opinions on this matter of parts going bad and customer service of a product Numark should represent the way it should be represented.

When Roger Linn made this precious peace of gear he made it for the love of music and for the easiness of expressing your musical soul through it. Sure later they fired him and got the whole game twisted which is driven by greed and profits. We are talkin' here about the original idea of a man that has later been used in a many ways just to make money.

I posted here, cause i believe that mpc-forums is a place where you can get advice and share the issues about your music gear and not to discredit or spread some propaganda here. I posted like it is the issues that i have with my MP.

I sampled of the CD's as i got the CD-M25 installed and also transferred samples from pc via usb, and now i decided to sample of the turntable and noticed that the record in's are not working.

Man i really hope that that is the case and that after i will replace the bad parts it will be ok.

well check mpc stuff and ebay for a replacement 8 output board if that winds up being broken.

then thing you should really do first is, open it up and check all the connectors to make sure they are not loose.. when you are banging pads that stuff happens. get new sensors... they die eventually. they can be had from mpc stuff or ebay.

i did open up the mp and looked inside, the main red cable connecting the board seems ok and i didn't notice anything else wrong there as by looking at it. probably only a qualified technician could test the board somehow to see what is really wrong with it. i guess i'll have to go with mpcstuff they do sell it for $170.

Speaking on the Beat Thang, i saw it on youtube, i mean every true producer knows that that s*** is homo, i don't even see how some people think Beat Kangz can take over Akai MPC. I hate when people steal the original idea of drum pads and make it in to some ''fast food drum machine''.

Aiight... Apologies if your post is genuine and you've really had such bad luck. I mean I know from personal experience that Nuakai are a shit company and their products have a lot of problems, but everything that could've possibly gone wrong for you, has gone wrong.
