MPC artists

Post here all the artists you know of using an MPC (any model)

I know just 1 and thats djShadow (duh.. )

there are many..they multiply..

Not sure if spinna uses the MPC4k or the 3k though

almost every major producer use's one. you guy's should check out dr. dre's set up in that new magazine for producer's called scratch magazine he use's like 5 mpc 3000's midi together for what ! I don't know but that new magazine is pretty nice it comes out 4 times a year and the fisrt edition is still on the shelf in book and music stores all over . they we're all sold out in my area I had to go the suburbs to find one. it has interviews with like ten of the hottest producer's out right now.

so mainly (if not all) hip hop, eh..?

Blaze and Spinna also make deephouse and broken beat style.

Other artist that use the Akai MPC that are not hip hop artist include Thievery Corporation, King Britt, Vikter Duplaix, Felix Da Housecat, Dan the Automator, Mark Farina, The Crystal Method, Infusion, Teisto, Underworld, Rae & Christian, just to name a few.

R. Kelly (3000), Swiss Beats (4000), Freddie Foxxx A.K.A. Bumpy Knuckles (3000 & 60), Masters at Work (Kenny - 2000xl & Louie - 4000) and Roni Size (3000 and an sp1200).

adrian! ... did you mean tiesto??? if so cool amd am qiote surprised! seen a cool show of the guy a few days back on dvd! ... impressive! ... was looking whether he usses an mpc too ... but there were just turntables ...

underworld rocks and i knew they rock mpc's! thievery is also fine! didn't know they used mpcs but last time hearing a cd of em i thaught, well maybe ... who knows! ... dunno the others! do you have a favorite of the others! can you recommend something! ... just interested!

and ... can you name some other not hiphopers too ... (nothin wrong with hiphop though but nice to see that mpcs rokk all over!)

Nah! I dont think Tiesto uses an MPC.. I saw his studio on the telly ones. Big room filled with synths, samplers and effects all going into Cubase SX2 and in front of him is a big wall with speakers, woofers, tweeters and monitors.

Acorrding to Remix Mag. (March 2004) Tiesto uses the Akai MPC 3000 in the studio.

I don't like to recommend music artist to others because there is so much out there. Just listen for it. There are others electronic music artist that use MPC's but I don't feel like looking it up. I am lazy.
