interesting and probably a direct competitor to the new ni traktor interface that is coming out.

still, i cant help but think that they are throwing the mpc name around for cred only. im curious to see what you can do with those sample pads, i imagine sample trigger and cue points? it be interesting if there was a rudimentary sequencer in it.

also looks like it is based off those ns7 / v7 boxes and those are complete garbage. everybody i know that bought them off the hype either has or is trying to sell them.

unrelated: numark really got it right with the cdx - too bad they wont go that route anymore.

exactly my thoughts.. my only gripe is the trash components (the cd drive) they used.. I mean, you must be very very careful with them and that is fine.. but it has that ribbon cable issue... I am just lucky mine didn't have that yet

bangin' beats live while juggling them on 2 decks sounds like a lot of fun. i'd definitely have to give that a try when i find a store that'll set up a working demo after its released.

Yup. LOL @ Akai desperately throwing the name MPC around on as many controllers as they can in their last ditch attempt to cash in on the MPC brand name sinking boat.

Not a DJ...but it looks cool. I am very interested in seeing the final product.

Akai is doing a good job of reanimating folks that you haven't heard from in a long time.

Agreed. Get a nanoPAD and one of those or the proven NS series and call it a day.

Pioneer is already up and running with this as well. Even though Numark unit looks cutting edge they are really playing catch up again. The Numark looks like a bargain version of the DDJ-SX.
