KRK 8's.

Although if I had it to do over again I would get the Yamahas in same price bracket for a flatter response. But the KRK's are solid, just have to bear in mind the slightly hyped sound.

The KRK's do cause less ear fatigue when used for general music listening and movies and stuff though.

Your budget is determining factor, what's the tr6's lacking ?

the tr6's arent really lacking anywhere, maybe could be a little better in the mid-low or mid frequencies, also could just be my room. But the lows and highs come out accurately as far as I can tell. They are not bad but they are old, the knobs on the back feel like they are getting a bit loose, one speakers sounds louder then the other and I have to tweak a different volume on one of them. Also one of them has a problem with audio going in and out, just dropping sound then the sound comes back randomly, check with multiple and new cables and it seems to be either my monitor or my interface but the tr6 are so old compared to my focusrite 8i6 and I bought the tr6 used. I just have that feeling they are going to be breaking down soon. Not sure how well the previous owner took care of them.

I let my friend borrow a pair of Wharfdale DP 8's, I used to use those but my mixes aways came out super bass heavy and I could never really get a mix right with them to exactly where I was satisfied. They were ok at best but more like book shelf speakers I think. My room acoustics are a little better now, maybe thinking of getting those back.

you're better off selling them on ebay/craigslist yourself... guitar center will pay you less than a pawn shop for used gear.
