Off-Topic: Did you ever get the floppy disk i sent you for the ASR? Did it work?
By Mistamoon86 Mon Jan 05, 2015 10:46 am
I am not sure, but i think there is no additional flash banks if you mean that. Just standard ram memory as its coming with machine, 2mgb. Everything works proprely, it doesnt look bad, but still without scsi and those flsahbanks memory i am not sure, because the seller is asking for around 315 dollars. Anyone else?

Thanks for answers

Pretty sure the out expander was stock on the rack could b wrong not that it matters but. To the op, without scsi its a bit pricey. I think you could still get a scsi kit from like syntaur or something but i think its like at least 100, if u plan on using a zip make sure it has the proper termination. Kinda depends on what ure using it for really, if its just a "grungefier" sampler and not trying to do much with it its fine. Got mine (a keyboard) with scsi and os on flash with max ram for like around 300 canadian. I use it as the centerpiece sampler so wouldnt have worked for me without scsi. Does ure price include shipping? Might b worth waiting to c if any come up locally (i dont know where u live if its a big enuf city or w/e.) I know where i live ive seen at least 10 go up, in the past year and get sold locally ranging from 250 to 300 bucks canadian.

Price does not include shipping. Also, i am in Europe, actually in Balkan so its harder to find something like this here then America or western countries of Europe. I would use it with MPC. The only thing is that probably i would need more memory then just one floppy, thats why its much better with scsi. I think that is the only one in whole region, probably there is two, three more somewhere in some dusty basements or garages that owners dont know theirs purpose.

well kind of a no brainer then, if u wont really b able to find another and u really want it then pull the trigger, 300 bucks isn t unreasonable considering where u live. Most people in europe not living in like the UK and other western European countries seem to overpay for older gear (so i guess not really overpaying). I guess the real question is could you get another piece of gear that would be less expensive to accomplish what you are trying to do?

U can get the scsi upgrade look into it tho on ure own. The floppies are dd s as well not hd s and yah if u want to do work on it floppies will b a pain, slow ass loading time saving across multiple floppies. Would the set up b eps for drums and mp for the rest incl sequencing? if so it s prob b not bad. I love the eps 16 for drums i ve been looking to add another one to my set just for drums. right now im using the mp for drums and sequencing. Which is kind of a pain becuz i sample and chop and do processing in the eps then resample into the mpc.

I would consider finding out your exact postal address how it is today. I think the one you gave to me is not completely valid anymore. When i sent the floppy, the lady at the post office told me this address is not correct anymore (country name), but they will send it anyway and hope it works (as it was the only address i had from you). The comment from the lady makes sense, as you didn't receive the floppy.

PS: Last EPS 16 here in switzerland sold for about 300 dollars (350 swiss francs).

I will see if i can put samples in MPC, like i usually do, and try to modulate them with EPS, not sure how its going to work, but we will see if i buy this rack. About postal code, i am receiving regular mails in my mailbox, so i dont know what is the problem.

Thank you for the answers and time

^not sure if i understand. Mayb if you explain ure intent a bit more i can help and/or possibly recommend another sampler that would do the same thing. For example emu has some rack samplers that are prob more common in EU and would be less expensive. I am ofc assuming that u need help mayb u dont at all.
