Low budget Modules

Hey team,
Any suggestion for a good low budet sound modules (especially rack or half rack). The Fantom, V-sytnh or Motif is out of the price range at the moment.

Quite interested in this myself. Ultimately I'd like the motif es rack but can't justify this purchase at the moment. I'd like some good realistic instruments (piano's, organs, orchestral sounds, brass, ... ).

Can you get anything decent for a low price or is it best to just get the motif rack? I've compared the korg/fantom and motif and the motif was the best to my ears.

These are nice n cheap modules:

Korg TR-Rack (not expandable)
Roland JV1080, Jv2080
Korg Triton Rack
E-MU Proteus 2000 Series

Roland JV series for real instruments, Yamaha TX series for Fm stuff, MAM MB 303 fot analog 303 type synths, KORG MS 2000R for all thet modern synth sounds...
There's lots of different modules, it really depends on what type of sounds you need.

don't forget about the Yamah EX-5R (predecessor of the Motif) and the Roland JV series.

Alot of used stuff will come into your budget.....The old Proteus stuff (all of it) has good samples, Korg's 05 stuff is pretty good too....there's a bunch of stuff out there. Find a music store that sells used gear and see what they have. E-bay's good if know the module you want....

Those modules you put up are good but they still cost too much at the moment. Might have to hustle hard for em.

The protues 2000 is kinda wack in my opinion. Maybe because I used to own it, but it's really kinda boring after a while. Actually, they all are, but I do remember the Tr-Rack sounding very similar to the triton years ago. If your going for low cost, then I'd jump on ebay and buy the sample cd's. Some have all the patches from particular keyboards. If your going for low cost, that's your best route, but if you want to play them like it's the actual module a decent sampler with a harddrive (or trigger it from your computer) would be real nice. Load up your sound, and play like it's the real thing.

these are both great modules, but definately not low-budget

Akai sg01 series are decent and good on the budget.

dont forget craigslist with the software revolution cats are unloadin old moogs and kurzweis by the boatload

i heard the xv2020 is a good look and has some excellent expansion modules, im looking for one myself but im hearing possibly the 1080 has better sounds.

kurzweil is also a sleeper with their vast system of sounds.

Well i went to the local music store today and checked out a korg micro x. This seems preety good in my current price range. I was impressed with the sounds it has. Any opinion on tis gear? or is there any "better" synth on similar budget?

I know that Guitar Center has marked the Motif ES6 down to 999.99. Thats a real nice price on the whole keyboard deal! I'd look into it bro.
