that'd be ill...last week me and my friend setup my mpc1000 and some computer speakers in his car using a plug in outlet from the cigarette lighter, and cruised around playing some raw beats, damn it was fun, and what looks we got pullin up to cars with the funkiest breaks just blasting haha

Naw I just thought it was funny because moments before I checked this thread I went through that "Why is Scarface in every studio" thread.

I dont think theres nothing wrong with having Scarface in the stu. Whatever sets the mood to make good music is perfectly fine.

Sh1t... I got Mr. Potato Head, Ninja Turtles and Perfect Dark right over my LCD.

With some WWII posters aswell.

I have a Street Fighter 3 poster in my studio. 8)

It's called an AXiS-64 and they are made by a small company in the UK called C-Thru Music. They're built-to-order and usually take a few months to complete after you pay up front. You can get one for around $1,600 but I had them custom paint a black finish and also bought the optional flight case as well.

They just introduced a new entry level model that goes for $500, the AXiS-49. It has less keys, sends MIDI over USB and it's pretty stripped down. Very refreshing tool for creating music and I hope it catches on. It's especially valuable for people who don't have any classical music training.

Just got it this week so I've only had a short time to mess around with it so far but I'm really liking it. In a way it's kind of frustrating because I'm having a hard time working out my old chops. Really though I'm glad for it and that was pretty much why I bought it. I'm playing all kinds of killer riffs and chord progressions I would've never came up with on a traditional keyboard.

Check out these videos:

 That's.. kinda.. amazing!

Im using the MPC500, but in the future, i'll probably hit up a 1000. But im keeping the 500, because I love taking places and making beats away from home. plus its cool to show off to the people around you. 8)
