deck daddy wrote:Just received this! Like a SP-303 on steroids. Really like messing with it! Lot less hiss (works with a higher internal volume than the 303) Copies sounds and sequences + 4 track sequencer is dope. I like the pad accent feature, so that I can record ghost hi-hats, snares kicks etc. get more dynamic drums. Large internal memory, not limited at all, can store 16 beats on a card. All I can say is D O P E ! ! ! Good little feller for a small price. Worth every buck!

If you love that, have you checked out an Electribe SX? I don't know how the prices compare, but it looks like the ESX can do everything you like about the SP-505, but better.

Yeah, the ESX-1 looks interesting too. And that one has the real deal real pitch-stuff, more effects at once, plus a basic envelope (505/303 completely lack envelopes). Might have to cop that one too if it shows up cheap somewhere near me.

i would say forget the sp 505 and esx1 (i have both and regret it) and just cop a MC909. But that joint is huge.

deck: i got the 505 last summer. Like it alot, but really hates that you can't record into the sequencer without quantisizing (or can you? hehe).. kanskje jeg har gått glipp av noe, men strevde litt med det da jeg fikk den og fant aldri ut av det. har ikke lagd så mye beats på den, mest trigga samples live, og gjort småting som lydeffekter - men burde prøve å få brukt den litt mer de dagene jeg ikke gidder å busse til studio. jepp

NORWAY! REPRESENT!

You can turn off quantization, it's all the way to the right after all the other timing correction options 1/4 1/8 1/8-3 1/16 1/16-3 maybe 1/32 and then "OFF"

773 pages and we still can't stop quoting other people's pics. jeeeez I wonder how many pages we'd have if we removed all the duplicate pics?
