I agree, but to say that one piece of gear can't become "classic" just because of it's looks seems untrue and shallow.

Absolutely - I was making the point that ultimately it will be how this box functions which is what will make it a classic (or not).

And of course - if this machine does do the bussiness, then Im sure there'll be those out there ready to customize these boxes even further...

1/4" / xlr combo jack with phantom power, so it's not for only dynamic mic's, guitars, and traditional sampling but also highend condenser mic's. Soft limit input with really high end studio grade pre. Can also record through Fx including vintage warmers, subtle distortion, 2 inch simulation, to many to name.....

We have redesigned our machine some, still got grillz though. Need something to protect it against all the mud slang'n and hot air.

Man made religion not god. I don't know if god is a actual being. I think of god more as
the universe and existance. How can you define infinity? Man has sure has tried.

I wish you guys could see the process of creating these gizmos. It's hard work but allot of fun for gear heads like us. We are filming the project and will release it after the product is out.

We'll drop some new vids soon showing twisting samples and combining them with sounds and seq. We on that J Dilla. We not just Souf

And he who doesnt will burn in hell forever...

**** any religion that holds its believers in higher regard than its non believers, all man was created equal. We die, we become dirt, our souls return to where they came from, heaven, hell, the earth or maybe beyond some other dimension like them weirdo scientologists say, who knows? Why prescribe to mans "beliefs" of the afterlife and purpose. You can only do the best you can while youre here, or say **** it dont give a damn. Either way, you die!

And **** the beat thang while Im at it! Yall dudes need to stop hyping this thing, and drop it already. You cats got youre whole image game **** up (are you guys 12 or something? "Grillz", "Beat Thang"......Its a **** beat machine, you should find it in the music store, not in the teeny bopper toy section of toyz-r-us)

Dudes hating on the customizing you gear, though, check this:
http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=92692

or this:
http://www.forat.com/service/

All I can say that there is a market for customizing. I wouldnt do it personally.

Just had to drop an opinion. Don't bother with the whole mic/line in thing. Just give it stereo 1/4 inch ins. People have interfaces to handle these things. I think most people just want a beat machine and will record their vox to a laptop. You could spend the money that would go towards a high end pre on better pads a more solid bulid and more programmers to get your OS tight. Just an opinion. As much I think this thing LOOKS wack with the "urban" marketing, it could also be a great tool if it is done right.

honestly, i'm glad my comment sparked some debate..

i couldn't care less about aesthetics of any given maSCHine, as long as though they do what they supposed to.. give the creator ultimate possibilities in using their mind as an extension of the studi0! at the ease of use of 'given beatmakers fingatips'................

IMHO-> i'd designed a cross breed of the ESX & mpc25k/xL.. awesome synth/filter/envelope capabilities + the extreme simplicities of a sampler/sequencer/hd options.(Linn drum ii here we GO!)

(coming from a pennywise/ratm/fear factory-punk drummer@12/dj@14/beat juggler/scratcher@15/esx start to production@18 b4 copping my 25k 3yrs ago.)^^^

i'm now almost 23 and wise to all aspects of music production & progressing readily + steadily..

MOTU-bpm hardwar3 visualization h!t the nail on its dome-peice with a sledge hammer, for reAL.. +simple synth generators/lfo's etc.... i could care less about FX->don't need ANY if its got decent LFO's and filters!!!!

i think the name and the grillz is what made peeps hate so much cos the sp303 looks like a toy also but neva got this much bad press.

plus peeps is mad cos the feature set is dope they just want it to fail but u gotta respect the designers for actually talking with potential users to aid the development
