Thanks, but looks can be deceiving sometimes ;)

Before having a child I could never understand those people who drown their kids and say they were possessed by the devil. After having a child I can somewhat understand how you get into this frame of mind. Not that I'd ever do anything to hurt her, but you'd be surprised how well equipped even a baby is to push you to the limit intentionally. She's a great kid, but sometimes she's a little too much like her mother for my sanity and well being, two Brazilian girls in the house is a bit much to take once in a while. All I know is... I'll need to get another bathroom in the house pretty soon if I ever want to have privacy/dignity again.

To get back on topic... got any pics of your setup? What are you rockin'?

Like the setup... only suggestion would be to zip tie the cables up a bit! It's nice and to the point... for me it'd be awesome if it was a little cleaner.

You only have power to your MPC? For shame!

Just curious, you using standard line inputs on the mac, or do you have a hidden audio interface someplace? I'm doing line in on my setup at the moment and just using a patch bay to re-route stereo as necessary to different gear. Might be overkill for what you're doing, but with a patch bay you can re-route your setup without needing to redo all the cabling. Also, how're you managing midi/sequences? Through the MPC, X6 or the Mac?

actually my fantom is the only piece hooked up at the moment. I need to get some new audio cables to hook up my mpc to my pv8 mixer to midi it all together. Plus I need pro tools software in order to track my beats out. Right imjust making beats in my fantom. I have some beats I did with both the fantom and mpc but I'm not doing anything with them just yet.

Once I get all the stuff I need, I'll have it all cleaned up and looking neat.

Its a couple pages back but at home:

joeljar wrote:IMNICE: how does everything stay so neat and organized without a rack? Setup looks great!!!

Anywho, I found my camera and got a picture of my setup. Bad picture and nothing special. Still trying to work some keyboards and midi gear in but as of now, my home setup:

Loving the throwback

But for now, I'm a freshman in college living in the dorms so :

I also have a turntable and 25 key midi keyboard but they take up too much room on the desk so the keyboard is in the closet and turntable is on top of my fridge.

Setup makes me look a little spoiled to be a college student so I apologize.

Looks like you need more room to me.

At least pick up a desk stand to setup the turntable and slide the laptop under it for room! :)

Yeah definitely. I'm getting an apartment next year so I'll have my own room and I will probably furnish it a little better. For now this works alright but by no means a permanent solution.

It took about a week, but I managed to read through all of these studio pics. :D so it is time for my addition

Image

that shelf has all the hip hop wax on it, all the stuff for sampling is underneath the desk. I use that radioshack type keyboard with a m audio midi usb interphase and do work with my demo version of fl studio :P and record beats into audacity. I also use the mpc...

What can I say, Its over 9000

Heres a close up of the mic (sm58) and stand that I built
