not to bust your balls... but if you'd bothered learning a bit about the mpc1000 while you very briefly had one, you would know it actually has 6 outs... which is not bad at all for it's size... and btw do you even need 8 outs yet? also the 8 outs costs extra on the mpc2k... just sayin. and as far as your argument... the mpc1k has a lot more memory and optional hard drive... do you not get it?!

actually, the 1000 has 4 ASSIGNABLE outs, and 2 individual stereo outs(right and left), and the 2000 has 8 assignable outs, with 2 stereo outs, so by your deduction it actually has 10 OUTS FTW!
EDIT: I used to own a 1000, and as far as ease of use, my 2000xl shits on it. SCSI replaces my need for an optional hard drive, and my 8 outs came pre-installed.

Actually gonna have to say ease of use is damn near the same with jj os1 as it was with my 2k classic. Gotta say the usb and hd option make the 1k far easier to backup files. No more fighting with my computer to back up or open files(except old projects from the 2k  ) and yes I had mpc editor and mpcpgmmaker, didn't help too much. Also no paying $300+ for a new lcd(if you can find one), no using zip drives or paying $170+ for a hotswap scsi cardreader(2k classic, I know ide and atapi drives for the xl are cheaper). In saying that, I still think the 2k sounded better and **** who ever's about to say it's all in my head, you're full of shit  . Go a/b the 2 next to each other with the same sample, I did right before selling the 2k, let's just say there was a noticeable difference in the sound. The 2k's build also kills the 1k, better pads(much better imo) and I miss the data wheel :(.

no doubt fam i had the upgrade pads before i went to the 2000 then onto the 2kxl and fam that upgrade made such a difference i could finally concentrate on the 1000 haha, it's good machine just as capable as the 2500 apart from the midi options and it doesn't sound like the older models nor does it have the swing but with the built in fx sound shouldn't be a problem you can make them drums sound phat!! trust that learn those fx fam i wish i had them on my 2kxl
