Does the Beat Thang Virtual have all the included synth sounds of the Beat Thang hardware? And why does the Beat Thang hardware only have one line input, what if I wanted to sample something stereo into it?

Skip to 5:49. I see you changing the filter cutoff by moving that little "light" sideways. It'd be cool if you had that on the beat thang and it was touch sensitive.

Also, when you dragged that instrument into track 2, the sequence stopped. Will this happen all the time or can you change that?

Every video I see makes me like it less. From little things like the misspelled CURSOR on the model to misuse of "To" instead of "Too" on the above video makes me feel like they don’t care much for the details and don’t take marketing their product seriously. I personally expect that when someone is asking me to give them $1000….if you look online on other forums they bash competition, accuse Akai of stealing their sounds, make it seem like it’s the MPC killer but then price it at $1000? I dunno man. I also can’t see the logic in buying the hardware version if they have a software version. Think about it, the hardware version only has stereo outs, no digital connections...so what’s its selling point? Portability? If that’s the case they are undercutting themselves because all a SMART consumer needs to do is pop the software on their laptop and they are good to go for significantly less. I don’t think this was well thought out at all....

When this thing comes out I might have to bring the camcorder down to guitar center and get a little demo going and really see what this is about...

I'm studying the hardware from the videos and it pretty much operates like an ESX-1. Like the way you put the sounds on the tracks and mute them on the fly. I think this will be great for live shows.

I'm sure the Line-in could be in stereo if you plug in a 1/4'' male stereo jack. The ESX-1 was like that too. But the Kangz are gonna have speak on that.

The input plug is a stereo TRS jack from what I understyand meaning it will be able to sample in stereo.

It also has USB streaming so no need for SPDIF.

Also there is a virtual software which will allow programs to be loaded as a VST or AUdio Unit Instruments.

No need for multiple outs unless you are a big studio dude and want to track through expensive hardware in a single run.

If you happen to wanna do that, you can just load it up as a VST and track it out through the expensive converters you have in your expensive studio.

If you run your stuff through an outboard mixer and don't have converters than maybe this isn't the thing for you.

When you are askin 999.99 thats hi end equiptment, if you think the asking price is not high end have at it.
Bottom line for what this thang dose 399.99 pushing it 499.99 at most.
Yet to see what the selling point on this is, what sets this machine apart from the rest.

actually it would be nice to have the vitual environment capable of hosting VST pluggins (for example; novation bass station, or electric piano)

that would be neat... your daw controlling VST pluggins while at the same time the hardware piece is running some motif rack type gear.

question is... is the software sequencing the thang or is the thang sequencing the software when they are synched together. (if it is the software, then it would be cool if the midi ports somehow switched to midi throughs or something like that)
