Nice setup Skeezee! Hope you like your Fantom. I have the X6 also, and it really is the heart of my studio. Let me know what you think. I also have the Mp1k. Great combo right there. I generally use the Mp for drums, percussion, and more odd samples. Then use the Fantom for more traditional instrumantation. I sequence both individually then sync them using MIDI Clock. Ussually works really well. Good luck my man.

I have 50 more 1' x 1' acoustic tiles that I haven't put up yet in my booth. The joists are exposed, so I haven't decided if I'm gonna do drywall or a quick drop ceiling. Regardless, I'm going to put some tiles on the ceiling and bass traps in the corners.

I bought my foam tiles from http://www.foambymail.com aka The Foam Factory. They ended up costing $1 each for 60 of em. They have different patterns and 12 colors I think. Waaaay cheaper than Auralex and pretty much the exact same thing.

I've wanted a Fantom ever since they came out. I'm waiting on a ram stick to max it out. I can't wait to learn it and harness the power of the 1K combo!!

Also, how well do you like the 2480? I've never gotten a chance to play with one, but I like the specs.

Yeah, the VS2400 is 19" x 19", and with the two rack bays on that desk, there in not room to put it on that table. It wouldn't fit in between the rails. Plus you have to add the extra depth for the cabling in the back.

The VS 2480 is 24" wide by 20" deep and the Command 8 is like 17" x 16". I wanted a 2480 over the 2400, but the 2400 has most of the features I wanted, just less inputs. I wanted VGA outs, PS2 inputs and the motorized faders.

I love it. My first multitrack way back when was a VS880ex, and it was a solid recorder. I am already familiar with Rolands VS series, so that's why I swapped my Korg for the Roland. Sound quality is great. Once I get my Universal Audio preamp, then shit'll really be kickin.

The VS2480 is off the chain. I own one and wouldn't trade for anything else!

Ah thats pretty dope, I don't think its ideal i use that specific place as I'm in the UK but I need to do a similar thing soon so I'll make sure I'll explore my options too. Need to educate myself too on how to acoustically treat a room as its something I really don't know about. Saying that though, I'm more of a headphone man myself.

Items not shown: Macbook, Rode NT2-A mic, acoustic & electric guitar. I also had a Tannoy Active Reveal Sub 10 (subwoofer) but the PSU on it blew and I gotta see someone to repair that. I now use it as a stand for my HDTV anyway so it still has a purpose

Also looking at getting a Mackie Control Universal too as it works so nicely with Logic.

The Compressor is really quick on the expander/gate section, so if you have a really shitty ring on a high hat, or, you need to cut out hiss or buzz in anything percussive, it ducks that right out. the translation on the lows is not that impressive, so kicks, bass, ext, not good. I have head of a mod that freaks it to where the pre sounds like gold... so I'm basically waiting to get that.

Yeah. the tilt is a must.

Your right about the behringer compressor (or any of their old tube rack units), you can replace the tubes, op amps and more to turn into some real top end shit.
