Buying fancy high priced gear. But TBH, I can't hate on the way another person chooses to spend their money. Mufuccas will always think they have some sort of rights to your a$$ thus dictating what meets their requirements and not yours. I say this because I still have a friend or two that just won't let go of the competitiveness. I get something, they've gotta match it or do better.
And to Tapuno, this isn't anything against you, it's more of me venting because I can def relate.
You never know who's watching you from a distance, especially with the wrong intentions.
I just don't understand it, I mean dont get me wrong, I just about spent close to 7 thousand on a complete studio revamp, but I carefully chose what I felt I needed and nothing more.
When you buy close to 30 damn keyboards, its just more gear-lust than practicality. Nobody should ever need more than one Openlabs product, IMO, and if you got all that gear, at least do something more constructive than booty noise. Like I said, I don't understand it. I did splurge on a high dollar mixer, but it suited my needs(16 channels of direct recording, onboard compressor/limiter, and 3 band parametric EQ) which saved me loads of money on other pieces of gear. And yes, Tech 12's and an ASR-88 do seem impractical, but my Stantons gave out, and I prefer weighted keys over plastic. Like I said, my needs. But theres no reason you should NEED 2 Neko's, a Yamaha ES6, a Roland Phantom x7 and an MPC 5000, plus dude got a mic locker that could support an extended family in Mexico for a couple years. It just seems impractical with the quality I hear of dudes work. No offense, LU, but maybe you could save some money and just stick to a DAW and a Axiom.
