Nice selection of gear you have there, didn't know you had an SP12. Working with the S900 must give you backache, or don't you use it much?

Those Yamaha HS50's, would you say using a subwoofer is essential for those? I had thought about copping a pair, or just getting the bigger HS80's without the need for a sub.

i picked up the SP12 Turbo a few months back... i'd started a thread about it since it was covered in nail polish when i found it... i still need to invest some money in missing buttons, new sliders and hopefully a new faceplate replica some day. on the bright side, the SP12 does sound good and it works... so that's what matters.

the s900 is currently in repair... hence why i have it without the rack ears right now [for easy internal access]... i have it at the bottom to weigh down the rest of the rack for now... once i get it working again, i'll probably put it on top of the rack and under the SP12.

those are the yamaha HS50Ms in my setup... i used them without the subwoofer in a very small room for years and was pleased with them... but now that i'm in a larger room, the subwoofer is a must. i'd probably recommend the HS80Ms without subwoofer if buying from scratch... and i didn't even know there were newer models of yamaha monitors... i hadn't been reading up on that.

I remember that thread now you mention it, god knows where it is lol.

EDIT: Thread found in OT, bumped and moved viewtopic.php?f=42&t=155049. The SP looks much better now than it did before!

@atestarr. Thanks for the heads up on the new HS7, wasn't up on those.

felt more like a really nice jam space with PT in the room. just needed PA's and a guitar amp which i did get. it got somewhat better after these pics.
(not pictured, too much too list)

so here is my curent temporary setup at my other house in the meantime..
just the main ingredients! ;)

This is kinda crazy..

I'd be interested in knowing how you route your MIDI headphones in this setup?

-couldn't help but add the pun lol

I am using my PC as a digital mixer right now. I have everything on individual ins going into the PC, then the main outs of my interface feeds the MV8000 which I am using as my recorder. Everything is synced via midi. I have a 360 Systems 8x8 midi patch bay that I use to split the signal. Right now all of the non mpc gear is sequenced with the mv. The EPS is my master controller that is connected to the mv, and the mv routes the midi data to the rack samplers and synths. Not the audio routing I really want but it works for now. And as for the MPCs..... I sequence parts on each one, depending on the sound I'm looking for or the mood I'm in.... Ha. And yes I am mixing on headphones..... My wife doesn't appreciate music and music making as much as I do.......

I am still looking for a great 24ch analog mixer and a hard disk recording solution (have some on my Radar....)

Hold up baby that's that Great State of Texas. Those are some Texas size MPC's minus the MV8000 but still, don't mess with Texas.

Ha!! Don't be hating on the mv. It has its place, its just not for banging out beats... Lol. That's best left up to the MPCs.

And once again....

Don't mess with Texas!
