Now now, lets stay focused! Use whatever you like with your mpc, there's no rules to break.

get a sp404 for your 2kxl it s a perfekt pair...the effects from 2kxl board is weak the ones from the sp404 great...

so you can sample and resample with effects into the 2kxl

Should I go with the kurz k2500rs, or the asr10? Or maybe the triton and mpc together?

Schitz, I can't make up my mind!

Then on the other hand, maybe I don't need to follow the hype.

lol dab...

Was just going to say... dude, just stick with the 2kxl. Learn it and figure out how you like it. Once you know what you're missing you can then research, ask here or whatever to find what you want for a sound. Sometimes you might want samples, others an FX unit, maybe a mic pre or even a new instrument.

To answer your initial question though, a lot of people will run an MPC with the S950 so that they can have the modern advantages of sampling/chopping on their newer MPC, but still be able to have the lower fidelity/gritty sounds of the S950. No piece of gear on it's own is going to work any magic for you, but if you do your research and know what role it will fill it will help you drastically. Mostly you'll find you need to pour some blood sweat and tears into your work to learn how to get the most out of each piece of gear.

Thanks for your insight. I like when someone gives me a straight up answer instead of these dumb comments. I thought these forums were here to help people. Not get my ball busted when Im asking a legit question.

G, don't take anything personal around here. This is just the kind of atmosphere you'd probably find if you were in somebody's studio but with all of us here (as your entourage) to kick it with you.

Kick back and share a few laughs dawg.

Stay a while... you'll figure out who plays nice, who kicks it straight and who's breaking balls. Some days we tag team... other days you'll see everybody go at each other. You just never know.

You'll find most online communities have a bit of a hazing for the new guys showing up though.

Just because it's fair game now... copping 6k in gear and not knowing much about it will probably raise some hairs 'round these parts.

Gratz on the gear, but having that kind of gear and not knowing how to set it up does set ya up for getting flamed a bit more. Just an FYI :P
