Yeah, the Commodore 1541 floppy drive is a totally different kettle o' fish as it uses it's own cpu and ram to do all the work - it's like a computer unto itself. I have a 1541 Ultimate for my C64. The 1541U uses an fpga which emulates all the chips inside the real 1541.

The MOS6502 chip is the classic CPU which was contained in many computers of the 80's, including a modified version (the 6510) in the Commodore 64.

I don't know of a 'master list' like that, but the developer has been super helpful...if you provide him a disk image he can tell you what settings to use. I have been meaning to ask what exactly it is he is looking for because it seems like it shouldn't be too hard to do.

It'd be good to get one for my S950. It seems certain floppies always fail but certain floppies always work. Maybe it's just that some of my floppies are knackered. They all look in good nick though. Weird.

^^That is the exact situation I had which made me want to upgrade to HxC...certain floppies always worked / certain floppies always failed.

I was able to use a 'good' floppy to image even the 'bad' disks via OmniFlop. Took a whole afternoon but was worth it.

The developer just updated the firmware so you can pull out the SD card, and put it back in, and it will cycle to the next disk image, just like taking one floppy out and putting another in (no need for buttons).
HA! I think that is hilarious and awesome... Nu-Oldskool style.

We are talking about the HxC SD Floppy Emulator (the subject of this thread), there is only one model...the one in the image.

It can be used in an SP-1200, but it is not 'the one for the sp-1200'. There is only one model, and it works in many different machines.

If you know of another one, specific to an sp1200, post up a link.

Looks good.

Saw the SP1200 video.

I can see this evolving into an even better solution.

For example, an enclosed external unit that connects out the back out the hardware through a connector of some sort leaving the redundant floppy in position (disconnected of course). Just to make its appearance tidier and quick release, allowing you to use just one emulator with multiple hardware units. Like....a card reader.

Or a tidy straight hardware replacement like this usb version.

I think it looks really good mounted in place of the floppy.

And keep in mind, this list is not definitive...this is just was has been tested. If your device is not on here, it is still likely to work with this emulator, the developer might just need a heads up to give you the correct configuration.
