Yeah I can imagine the trackpad being difficult for close editing, I find it hard enough to press the right buttons on an iphone!
Sorry I don't know much about them but is the cubase keyboard a normal keyboard but with coloured/labeled buttons? or does it have extra features?
Good effort on getting it how you want, mines still a distant dream.

i don't like the wireless mouse, kboard and trackpad. it's just a waste of batteries or a hassle keeping them recharged. plus i don't have any need for them to be wireless - i never feel the need to walk around the house with my keyboard.
I'm too used to wireless that cables running over the place gets on my nerves.
I find it good because if I go in the room next door I can still listen to music using the volume and skip functions on the keyboard.
Also with the mouse I can sit across the room on the sofa and zoom in to see the screen without getting up
