It's definately not impossible to have free plugs for OSX PT6, hit me in the PM, and I'll make your day.
(CPU power is allocated alot better in OSx for PT too)

so with the vst wrapper, you can add cards like the powercore or the uad jumpoffs?

i heard this from my man, but i am not yet believing it untill i see it. what does this mean for the hd/tdm market?

if we can get the same kinda processing power as hd/tdm with those mackie or tc powercore cards, whose gonna fork out the dough for the high end PT when they can stay with LE and some extra cards?

and as far as transferring back and forth, you should be straight trupro.
i use to transfer from 6->5 fairly frequently on a hd/tdm rig. it was pretty good about being backwards compatible.

I read that there is still a significant delay when using the UAD stuff w/PT. You still have to either manually shift your tracks earlier in time or use the time adjusting plugin. They say the time adjusting plugin eats up an unreasonable amount of CPU power.

Pros and higher end users will still fork out the cash for the TDM systems where zero latency monitoring is not an option but a requirement. And where a high number of inputs is required etc. I'm sure as technology gets better and faster, this too will change.

Seems like a cool addition to the arsenal though. I'll probably pick one up for the home setup.
