Which monitor headphones do you all use?

I rock the M50s as well, they're good but I don't find them that comfortable. Especially if you're like me and your eyes are **** - no lenses in? you gotta where glasses - closed cups and frames are gonna leave your ears aching in less than an hour.

I just got a pair of opencup Grados that I use now day to day , not great for reference, the bass isn't right... but they're crazy comfy. i'm learning how they sound and trying to compensate when writing with them.

I'm currently using Technics RPDJ1200A at the moment

I wear glasses, and my m50s feel fine. I guess it's just my glasses. they're the really thin and light polycarbonate stuff or whatever.

i agree open ear cup, semi open or whatever they call them tend to be more comfortable...my akg240 were lot more comfortable than my sens hd 280...but with akg240's I could hear outside noise and found myself crankn up the volume lot more ...in my sens hd280 once music was playing, if somebody kicked in the door I wouldnt hear shit,...I almost knocked out my girl couple times wearing sens 280's cuz she'd come in and spook the shit outta me....that's why I always used sens 280 cuz of the outside noise isloation...I guess there's trade off of comfort for functionality

get these, i use them and they are awesome, like jonestown says, get the strait cable version though, the model number is "ATH-m50s," alot of people complained that got the coiled cable because it is heavy and clunky.

they have a GREAT frequency range for headphones and after all the research i did, they were the best monitoring headphones i could find.

there are 1 or 2 other brands that make good "monitoring headphones," but i dont remember the name of them (pioneer maybe?) im perfectly happy with these though, one of the most crucial things i have gotten lately, and yes you can mix with them if you dont have the best room for your monitors.

just be sure to take the time to learn them, run reference mixes through them, and test your mixes on other things before your done.

i think youll really enjoy these.

Just got a pair of Sony MDR-ZX1000s. Buying flat sounding headphones/monitors for your MPC is new information to me, anyone know if these are alright for mixing or if they are more for your Ipod, computer ect. ect. Being that they are only 20.00 it's not a problem to replace them or just put them aside for entertainment.

Tascam makes good products. These are the TH-02. Closed back headphones and the ear cups rotate 180 degrees left or right. Excellent sound and well balanced frequencies. Kinda sounds like my monitors when plugged in.
