MIDI Keyboards with built-in Soundcard, do they still exist?

Admittedly, M-Audio haven't done much with it since its release (and probably won't venture in to synth territory again any time soon), but it is an amazing piece of kit for under $200, even if you absolutely hate the pre-programmed sounds and aren't willing to program your own.

Well the Mox has it but its midiKeyboard + rompler + soundcard

if you want cheap and overall ok, I suggest the novation X station... not so much for the soundcard, but it is supposed to have a good synth engine(novation A/V/Bass station should be included in the factory memory, i guess..) they go for quite cheap now, and every botton and fader and knob can be MIDI assigned freely... very versatile..

So my options-

1. M-audio venom: Price is insanely good. Wish it XLR / phantom power inputs.
2. Novation Xiosynth: This could be it- will look for a used one. Wonder if it has an arp?
3. Roland SH-201: Just remembered- I used to have one of these. Despite the reviews, I got some dope sounds from it. Never used as a soundcard back then, but it has the option. No XLR / phantom power tho.

Was there any other options? Maybe I'll hit guitar center and see if they talk me into a 61 key motif

Also, does anyone know the difference between X-Station vs. Xiosynth?

X-Station preceded the Xio series by a few years. Same concept, internal synth/interface/quality MIDI controller in one. The X-Station has more hands on controls and has sliders, the Xio's are kind of minimal with their knobs.

X-station seems more pimp... would it be dumb to get something so old, since I want computer integration?

Only if you found that drivers don't run on modern OS's. The synth engines are quite similar in both units.

If I'm looking at this right Novation's current "USB" driver is a bulk thing that covers all their products, so I think you're good with the X-station on current OS's.

I know the X-station is USB 1.1 on the interface but I bet the Xio was too as they knew you'd only need to use the 2 inputs which USB 1.1 can handle.
