This is incorrect. the guy has a 828 Mk2, which has 2 mic preamps on the front, together with individual phantom power (48v)
these pres also have insert points bfore the digital converter. i'm not suggesting that it is a the best solution, but you could use these and purchase a good compressor instead of a whole new channel strip. just a possibilty...
