doesnt quite cut it compared to the real thing though
forget buying an 808, thats for fashion-gear-victims.
i sold my 808 and bought a JoMoX XBase09 and havent looked back
But it is a viable option if you're on a budget. Don't forget, the person that started this post was looking for samples, not an expensive module. I'll write a drum loop in ReBirth then export it as a perfect length looped WAV file and be able to control tempo precisely. If EQed correctly, I would dare someone to tell the difference in a mix. The pros outweight the one con when you're on a budget. Believe me, if I could spend more, I'd buy the "real thing" too (I'm into fashion and looks when it comes to something that I'm going to pay that much money for).
Plus, isn't the JoMoX XBase09 a 909 emulator and like $1000?
