ok, if you are in the mode in which you can change presets, hit "system".

then scroll to the parameters i listed above. you have(i wanna say) about 6 MIDI CCs that you can assign there, and you'll use these same 6 for any knob assignments you do.

this means you have to know what MIDI CCs your OXy8 is sending out(i dont have one), and you also have to go into edit mode for individual presets and set up what parameter responds to which of the 6 CCs you set up earlier.

I think each of the 4 fx slots can have 2 CCs assigned each

i took it for granted that you know how to say, go into edit mode and back, and what midi and CCs are. if not, you might as well take a moment and google that....it comes in handy...

Rough- I'm not entirely novice at MIDI, but the technical side of it still confuses sometimes- mostly when i'm not actually sitting in front of the machine. So maybe I should go do that.

Thanks for all the help, folks. If anyone else has any further advice, let me have it.

it's easy, but it took me 5m of study & trial&error

just set the control & the effect MIDI channel the same so they (both) will react to the incoming MIDI cc events

also, note the modulation response rate (para. 61 in the system/MIDI page)
if this is set too high your changes/cc events will not yield immediate results

greets,
