i have strings on my midi channel 1 goin to the MPC, and everytime i play a new sound on a diff channel it seems like the strings are still playing along with them. i dont understand why, there not on the same midi chanel or anything

this will solve your problem.............when you change to the next midi channel/track on the mpc, make sure you go to the next track in the triton, and pick your next instrument. remeber to do this everytime

ok. record strings on the 1st midi channel 1a on the mpc then change to bank 2a on the mpc. Next change to the next midi channel on the triton and select that bank. You shouldn't hear the first midi channel when you play a key. It's pretty simple. Not sure why you said you had four midi cables connected. All you need is midi i/o which is two wires total.
