Well imma sell this mo ****. Im going to buy the MOTU 828MKII
http://www.zzounds.com/item--MTU828MKII
This is exactly what i need. I still like to use a mixer though for some analog summing and i like to mix the pcs outs thru the board instead of the pc so i will be cool probably with my beringer ub2442fx until i can get enough bread for a mackie 24/8.

But on the feel front, i already have a trigger finger, and i actually like the pad response and sensitivity compared to my mpcs. The only thing i will remotely miss is the sequencing, but honestly i haven't saved anything on it in almost 6 months. Ableton just gets it done better. And i also own a laptop rig, so the motu would integrate right into that shit when im recording for work, which lately is a lot. I love my mpc and have had it for 5 years now. I learned how to produce on it, learned to sequence, learned midi, learned sampling and looping, and it is a great machine. But im just that type of person that when i find something i like, i roll with it. Kinda like how ive used the mpc everyday for 4 years. I dont really switch a lot gear around and will use something exclusively for years. Like even ableton, ive been rolling with since version 3.

I was thinking about getting that same Motu but I was told that the RME Fireface 800 is better.

that looks dope but its out of my price range. I wont blow more then $800 right now on one.

Sell it. Your tracks sound exactly the same with or without the MPC. It's dead weight for you.

I wouldn't recommend this advice to myself or a bunch of others, but for you...I know this is the way to go.

Edit: OK, I already see you made your decision.

i mainly want 8 outs. I could get by with 4 ins if i had to, but ive been doing alot of recording for bands and NPR radio, so the ability to have 8 mics or line sources in is good thing to have.

I like to send my pcs outs into a mixer to then mix down on there and then do a 2 track mix down to my hhb cd burner. THis makes me thinnk though. Can you play the channles back thorough this thing. Like say i recorded on track one, can i playback on track one. Get what im saying? I might be better off with a nice mackie and a MOTU interface. to have 8 ins and 8 outs connected to the mixer.

onlt two tracks from computer.
