get either some dynaudios/KRKs/blue sky audio desk monitors (the three piece set).. those are my current favs.. and that includes anything in the dynaudio line (especially the new ish) and krks.. (anything over 500+$).. ez=)

good monitors=good mix.

i think somthing melted in the internal circuitry and the thing went haywire. i plug it in with different power cables in different outlets with nothing plugged into it and it blasts the meters to just below red. its done.

this is exactly why I unplug the surge protector also. sorry about your loss. thats tough.

scooped up some event tr8 powered jawns. i like em a lot. better than the tannoys. i plan on posting a pic real soon of the fried monitors.

Are those 8 inch powered events? I'm glad you like the sound. I have the powered Event 20/20s, and I thought they sounded so transparent cus I 'just didn't know any better'. But f that, cus my ish is radio ready now. Event is 'bang for the buck'. Way to bring it back.

I agree. I bought a pair of Event PS6's and they sound really nice. Most worthwhile purchase I've made since my MPC. Look into a Mackie 1202, very quiet and versatile for it's price.

I'm sorry about your loss, but I'm glad you posted what happened. The information aquired from some of the replies to your post might save someone else's equipment.

I have a Furman PL-PLUS power conditioner that I've used since the live music days and it still serves me well. It displays line voltage and has color coded LEDs. I'm just under 119 volts right now. Can anyone tell me how protected I am with one of these? Or should I get an APC? I don't have alot of sh!t, but I certainly can't afford to replace any of it.

i actually use those at work and they are great, but no way could i spend that much of my own money for a set.
