you guys also have to remember that the soundcard that you are using with the mic, if you are using computer software to record your vocals, goes a long way too.

i got the neumann tlm103. scooped from mars when they went out of business for $550. not bad since they go for $975 now.
but for real, you can get great sounds out of an sm58, its all in how you set it up. get a pop filter, a decent preamp, then eq and compress it in your computer and you can have pro vocals. i have had to use the sm58( a $90 mic) at work when i was having probs with our at4060( a $1400 mic) and it sounded just as good and aired on tv fine. these are announcers keep in mind, but its a human voice nonetheless.
heres a tip. if your gonna get a mic either get a really nice one or hook up a sm58 til you got money to get a real nice one.

I use a Marshall MXL67v and I have no problems with it at all. It's a nice mic. I am eyeing the Blue Tube. That is one nice mic. rode makes good mics too.
