I would way, way rather have that mpc1000 micro-x setup than a juno-g and say, a minimoog. seriously. you were on point with that combo......deadly! the sounds of those two would really go nice together......and the mpc to sequence the micro-x!!
I do like that optin of an Mpc + Microx. On paper, there is a serious battle going on between the Mpc + Microx combination and the Juno G. At the moment, the juno G is the clear leader with more fx processors, a 4 track Hard Disk recorder, and it is much cheaper than an Mpc1000 + Microx.
But when i think about it, I dont think I would enjoy making beats on a Juno G. No pattern sequencing. No pads. I know you can easily loop sections of a song, but it just seems awkward compared to pattern sequencing. Plus, there's something fun about using the mpc's which I don't think I would get from working the juno G. The only downside of the Mpc is the fx, especially the reverb.
Robtron, that rig would sound sweet, but i want to avoid the whole mixer/cable thing, too many options for buying processors, fx and even more synths. I wnt to restrict myself to a clean setup and get some work done (I've messed around with buying gear for too long).
