I just copped the tr-8's from GC two days ago. I like what I hear from them. I was using some old bose joints at first. When I blew one of the woofers that gave me an excuse to get some true monitors. I was lookin @ the Truth's and the alesis M1's. The Truth's sounded good but I've heard some bad things(bad shielding & a tendency to catch on fire) that turned me off. The M1's were to bottom heavy for my taste. So take your time and check out the different monitors available then make your choice. BTW I got a good deal on those TR-8's. I paid $518. $400 for the monitors & $100 for the speaker stands.
