I didnt see the type that has the side braces that hold most MPCs, but the Folding Z stand is adjustable to width and height. Anyway, I'll look around more.

I got a piano bench along with a keyboard stand (not using the stand) and i moved my 60 outta the closet so that it is closer to the keyboard. I'm glad i'm not sitting in a chair anymore I feel like I have a lot more movement.

I moved the speakers further apart

Next thing i need to get is some pedals, midi breath controller, and a ribon. After that probably end up getting a Yamaha o1v connect that via adat to the emu 1212 for 8 tracks. Also thought about getting a used emu sp12 but i haven't seen any on craigslist or ebay.

Sup bro. Nice setup. I was thinking maybe you should turn the monitors inward a little bit. Try it out and you will hear the differences.

might have to bust out a protractor/compass or some type of device to measure angles.

should i turn them like 15 degrees ? or more?

Such precision isn't entirely necessary. I think Jimbo was just talking about turning the monitors inward so they directly face your ears. I've got mine setup that way and I notice the difference, though I can't explain what the difference sounds like.

When you angle your monitors precisely to where you sit, you'll be in what is known as "the sweet spot" where you can hear everything more accurately.

I'm not too sure about that - Maybe in an acoustically 'perfect' room.

I bet if he angles the speakers towards his listening position using his own eyes and judgement, he would not be able to hear the difference than if he did the same thing with correctly measured angles.

Here's a couple of photos of my newish studio taken last week.

Yes, the chair cost twice as much as the mixer. So to the guy who was dissing EMFinite way back for spending more on the furniture than mixer, feel free to diss me too for spending more on my chair than the small Behringer desk, which sucks anyway, right? Seriously though, the MPC4000 only has 8 outs + stereo, so I don't need anything bigger than a 12 channel mixer anyway. There's enough extra inputs for the 3x synths etc.

The keyboard slides out. I grabbed the slide out part from an old broken desk. It's great having everything in front of me.

As for the single PC monitor, if I were to use 2 monitors I'd have to spread the speakers further apart which would ruin the accurate stereo imaging. How the music sounds through the speakers is much more important than how much information can be seen on a screen or two. So many people these days seem to forget this and base their studios around computer monitors rather than going for what sounds best.

Enogh chat, here are the pics....

Very nice! Looks like a great place just to sit down and focus.

I'm interested to know what the two larger keyboards are. Do you have a list of your gear?[/noseycunt]

Cheers.. Yeah the slide out keyboard is just a Roland PC200 mkII, the one near the window is a Korg Poly 800 (digital oscillators, analog filter), and the Moog is a Micromoog, but the modulation doesn't work. Still sounds great though.

Oh, Gearlist- Dell 5150 laptop on top of the Korg, in the rack there's from top a Waldorf Pulse, Behringer Multicom pro XL, Ensoniq DP/2 fx (needs a new battery), Boss RV-70 (still a nice sounding reverb), and a Yamaha REV100 reverb. It has some great phasey effects. Also, the usual Vestax 05Pro mixer and SL1200s, Yamaha NS10M's, and a home made 4 switch MIDI switcher under the rack gear. The PC's a 2.4ghz P4 and is in a tiny room under the stairs bhind where the pics were taken where it can barely be heard with an M-Audio FW410.
