honestly, I think anyone that uses version 1 of any software or hardware is pretty much in "beta test" mode lol.

That's just how it is man, like it or not, the first adapters are the ones that help them work out the kinks.

It's not exclusive to beat thang, happens with akai, roland, ableton, native instruments, motu...anyone you can think of pretty much.

Individual pad delete is working on mac but not on windows. We missed that one sorry.
It will be fixed with an update this week and also allot of other tweaks including better compatibility with pad controllers MMC controls so you can use the transport on like an mp pad controller. Plus a ton of other Lil things we found that may work better.

We will have a free trial this week for download.

We will offer download of full version soon.

There are a bunch of updates comming. We have a great dedicated software team and they are hard at work on auto chop VST, AU, RTas, time stretch non and realtime, step seq plus tons more....

We are making fire on it.... Then again we don't use delete much. If it ain't right we just undo and do it again. That WILL be fixed this week on PC.

Ah so this explains why it was working for me (I'm on Mac) and not for some of the other users in this thread.

BEATKANGZ,

Is the ability to change the tempo to integer numbers going to be included in this week's update? Reason I ask is that when using loops from old records, sometimes you need a tempo that's between two whole numbers for the loop to come back around on time. Say I have a loop that's faster than 100 bpm and slower than 101 bpm, so I would need to put the tempo somewhere between those two, for example maybe 100.4 0r 100.6 bpm.

I also noticed you mentioned that Step Sequencer is in the works as well. Will this include some type of piano roll edit screen where I could go in and change the duration and velocity of individual notes?

I think with all the updates coming, and future inclusions of user suggestions like those listed, the Virtual Beat Thang is really going to start changing the minds of those who were initially a bit wary of this product.

looking forward to all the new updates and growth of the software.

BEATKANGZ,

I noticed on the BTV that there was only TWO editable parameters for each effect. Will this be the same on the Beat Thang hardware unit?

I was hoping for more parameters to edit. Get real ASRX/mad scientist with the effects and all that.

Great idea about the tempo. I'll ask the team to do that.

We'll try to include piano roll in step mode

there are tons more than two functions on most of the fx just have to page over

reverb is only 2 because it's a basic verb.

We plan to add tons more reverbs and more multi fx as we grow and synth gens etc

we just added mmc controls this week so transport controls now work from controllers

also we made kit edit way better. Now you will be able to play a pattern and select a kit from a track and edit the kit with out stoping the pattern. All changes to the kit happen live while the pattern is playing so let's say you make a beat with a kit and say hmmm I wonder what a differnt snare would sound like or I wonder if I pitched this kick down what would that sound like. Well in real time as the pattern is playing you can make these changes and hear them real time......

This will be in the next release hopefully by the weekend.

Can an MPC do this? Can you edit kits realtime while playing a beat using that kit?
I've never tried that is it possible on an MPC?

Now do you see why pad mute and solo are soooo huge. You don't have to burn up tracks on kick snare hat and perc any more. All your drums can be one track 1!

88 pads per track x 16 tracks and can edit them mute or solo in real time....

Wait till u see Rex and auto chop, time stretch and multi wave export! Vst is also in testing RIGHT NOW. It's all on the way.

**** it let's build the baddest Lil monster the world has ever seen.....

Keep the suggestions comming Im on a mission to smash every single nay sayer to bits and tap dance on their ashes!!!

I would recommend if you have not got a virtual you do so now for 3 reasons.

1. Learn the virtual u learn the hardware. Start compiling and configuring your kits, help shape the OS..... If you haven't caught on Virtual is the beta of the hardware.....lol
We'll be at 2.0 by the time the hardware comes out. Don't you wanna help design the baddest new beat machine??? I mean really folks..., when will you EVER have another chance to do something like this. U think rol or nukai will listen to u. Must less get in a forum and actually talk to u.

2. When All the features are in place on the virtual it will cost more. If you wanna wait that's cool but early adoptors are gonna get free updates to the pro model.

3. Beat making and kit/inst making contests are comming soon and the prizes are gonna be stupid..... Think I'm jokeing. It's gonna make head lines. Small fortunes will be won. Record Labels will be listening. Kangz will be crowned. You will HAVE to use virtual to enter.

4. Ok I know I said 3 but this is important. For every virtual sold we will donate one to a school music program. We are not jokeing when we say this is a movement to empower musicians and the youth.

And to prove it. If any in here need a gig. Contact [email protected]

We have already brought on a few reps and need more.

That's my rant for tonight.

Later folks

peace and beats

Aja

just one question... who are the mods?!?!? ???

Yes you can edit a program (kit) on the MPC while the sequence plays. I just verified it on the MPC500, and it worked fine, but now it's not responding to any input and I'll have to power down and lose my work. Can the Beat Thang do that? If you want it to be able to do everything the MPC can it'll have to crash a lot. Have your team check into it.

The MPC can sample while playing a sequence too. Can the Thang do that? Can it edit samples while playing a pattern?

Can JJ OS mute and solo the pads? Can JJ record the mutes so they happen automatically as part of the sequence playback? Can the Beat Thang do that? Can it record any data changes, like FX, level, pan, etc.?

Does the hardware have a cooling fan as loud as my annoying laptop that's whining right now?
