i only have a cd that he didnt even give to me, i took it lol, and its just 2 beats, no variation just loops.

i cant post his unfinished work, but honesty if he told me he made them on his MPC, or on his SP or MV8000, i wouldve believed him. Beat Thang Virtual is no joke. I had no faith in this Thang at first but my homie showed me the light.

I wanna **** with a hardware version personally though, im not down with making music on the computer

Saintjoe - good work on the site man re: new Beat Thang forum, etc. Any news on the new software release and also when it can be bought for download rather than shipped?

Looking at the Beat Thang Virtual specs today, and saw something I could maybe make a suggestion on.

16 layers per pad is awesome, seriously very cool. My suggestion would be to make them not only velocity layers, but also maybe allow them to be stepped through, don't know if that is possible, but it would essentially give the Beat Thang (real and Virtual) basic wavesequencing capabilities. Is this possible?

Anyone who's used a Korg Wavestation will know how cool rhythmic wavesequencing can be, and this would be user samples as well not just stock ROM sounds - could be very interesting.

It's something I'd like to see, it was a work around in my old Kurzweils (which had 32 Layers) and it'd be great to see in an up to date sampler. It might be pretty niche though, anyone else interested?

Are you talking about like in a "round robin" or random style of stepping through the samples?

I'm not in front of it right now, I thought round robin was there as well as velocity switching but I could be mistaken. I know it does velcocity though..

I agree being able to step through the sounds is dope.

Are you looking at being able to step through via lfo? I know they are working on adding lfo abilities to it, and that could be pretty sick routing the lfo to step through the layers giving you that "wavestation" vibe.

I will check on this at lunch if someone else doesn't do it before then.

Yeah I was thinking Midi Snyc'd LFO-style, although round robin with some kind of note-repeat would also work too.

Cheers for checking it out, I'm one of those Brits awaiting the download option or the hardware itself so don't have the chance to. Your site is amazingly useful btw Saintjoe, very helpful videos!

awesome, glad you like the site!

yeah man...I can def see how that would work.

I even like using round robin for playing out chops! It works wonders lol...I've done it with GURU lol.

randomizing it would be even better!

keep an eye on the site, make sure you subscribe!
