well, "supposedly" he has owned three different types of MPC's but yea coming in to the MPC Forums and dropping that isnt a good idea, but hey he/she can do what they want, no ones stopping em...

yea making all these remarks about how great it is and doesnt have it.....like i said ill actually wait until he/she gets it and THAN see what he/she has to say...and the slight possible chance of seeing em sell it like everyone who bought an MPC 500, there are so many on ebay it aint funny.....

I admit I am a little too excited about something I haven't even used yet. Anyways, my apologies if I hurt any of your feelings by titling the thread "Bye bye MPC". I've changed it now.

I've owned and loved hardwares like MPCs and Electribes but now I prefer working with a computer as long as I can still have the same hardware feel. In that regard, Maschine owes a lot to hardwares like MPC.

i just picked mine up - only had about 15minutes with it before i got pulled away but it looks promising

it definitely does not have the presence sitting next to my mpc 2500, but from my short time poking around without the manual - it has a very similar work flow

i'll let you guys know more as i dig deeper - is there anything specific people want to know?

Which version are you running (1.0.3 is the latest) and what are your computer specs?

We want to know about latency.

what are your computer specs... and is there a delay from pushing a pad and hearing the sound.

I have set my E-mu ASIO driver to 8 ms which is just noticable. I probably could tune my PC to decrease the latency a couple of milliseconds, but 8 ms is fine to me.

are you using the maschine standalone?

From what I hear you can run it as a VST pluggin. Anychance of giving a little review on how that performs?

I often start with Maschine as standalone to create the main loop. This is a so-called scene that consists of up to eight patterns, one for each group (bank). Then in Cubase I load the Maschine VSTi and assign the sounds to the eight stereo outputs, so I can do the mixing with the Cubase mixer. That way I'm also able to use VST effects if I want to. Then I add a scene for every change in the song. The scenes can be selected by program changes (scene 1 = program 0, scene 2 = program 1, etc). So by drawing program changes or by recording program changes sent with the Maschine controller (or any MIDI controller) you can make the arrangement.

Well, trust me all, try the little unit and many of you will get the bug for this Maschine !

It won't make true MPC fans ditch their units, but it will possibly be comfortably sat right next to your MPC in future.
