But then the 2000XL doesn't have these and machines before it are the same..the 2k only has the lame A-R envelopes (Attack&Release)
The JJ OS does indeed look what the OS should of been like, and most of the features on it look dope but I was just surprised how much people hated the 1k OS even compared with the old old gen MPC's

peeps totally hatin on the 5k,but especially with the os 2 is a mean machine.(needs another upgrade tho,cmon akai) nowadays we cant be satisfied because we want what the puter can do!!!!the mpc 4k sure is the way for a great mpc to be tho.IMHO

it was not just the adsr's im using the free jjos, but the way the akia os layed out shit was not intuitive, shit work flow

Id rather have a MPC than a NI MACHINE.

Put it this way a MPC is a single beautifull lady (ALL YOURS)

Everything else is i.e. tha NI MACHINE is a dirty single mother with six different coloured kids...

It works just LIKE standalone hardware. Notice how I never said that it WAS standalone hardware. Just because it needs to be attached to a computer via usb doesn't make its workflow any less efficient or hands-on.

The 1k was actually trying to be a small portable, cut rate MPC ala the 500, but they cut the wrong points.
Fix some and then JJ expanded on the OS.
He later took on the 2500 because it was based on the 1k.
They did a better job on the 500 OS than the original 1k OS as hard as thast may seem to believe.

-it requires the software to work
-It is only manipulating the propeties of said software
Just those facts alone means it's it's lost the real advantage of standalone hardware...........the ability to standalone.
What you have is called controller, computer and software alone.

No confusion at all.
