What Compressor Should I Get?

on another note you should also not compress just to compress but because the sound is lacking something and compressing makes it sound better. If the sound is already hot as **** then leave it alone

gon have to agree with my man mesh. Yo, compressors are
a must have. You gotta have control of the dynamic range. Yea,
compression does make yo beats bang cuz you squash the
dynamics and bring the whole thing up. DBX is a tight compressor.
I know Neve makes good ones too.

What about High end Compressor Like,Tube Tech,Neve,Urei,Avalon, Joemeek (if you Consider that High end??) What are the advantages
of using these???

excellent circuitry, transparency, design, and sound, among other things. overall they can make your mix sound like butter. but of course they cost an asss load of money.

but like with anything in the engineering field, it aint really the gear, its how you use it. you could take the best gear in the world and still not mix it right, but then you could take some shittty gear and make it sound great.
