I fully agree take the time to learn what you got. I have to say I don't really get into reading manuals until I absolutely need to. I prefer to press buttons and try things out until I eventually figure out what I need to know, it may take a little longer this way but I get more satisfaction and I end up remembering things a lot better this way.
People seem to be getting lazier and want to find the easy way out of everything now.

i was always that kid well off but with one pair of kicks untill i could buy my own.. as soon as i knew what i wanted and researched whatever that was, i took the time to shoehorn that sneaker..

and now i rock that mpc that nobody teached me but myself,
on my own appendix, laugh at u suckaz when u burn n spend shit,
i burn honey on my porridge and thats it,
you try n teach em raw, but they be askin u stoopid questions,
im like, listen here muthafuka i too my own directions..
its simple like embee, mp-finger flexin

started on the mp in '06 coming from a red electribe esx i had for 6 months from a mate.. i knew there was something out there that could do what i wanted the esx to do. did my research and never looked back. best investment of my life hands down!

only regret is i didn't get into it sooner, but i guess i wouldnt have developed as a dj as much then..

learnt drums from 10, started my venture into turntablism and hip hop at 14, 25 in a couple days.

*i remember a moment when i was listening to premiers scratching hooks and thinkin, how does he do that.. is he doing that shit live with like 4 turntables, LOL! not even knowing what a 8 track is etc.. wish an mpc or an 8 track could have dawned on me then.

the 'requiem for a dream' theme song is the first sample that made me want to flip!

mp2500 jj/os1 is my workflow, it just works for me. i'm skeptic on upgrading jj os' even though i want to, but why change something that aint broke. i got an xl just to see what the hype was about n used that for the best part of my 3rd mpc yr and had alota fun with it, but just held me back sitting next to the big brother..

im still droppin gems on my self every other time i jump on it right when i think i've covered all bases. shit, i thought i mastered it in the first couple weeks.. wrong!

sampling in computers never appealed to me. have not had hands on time with maschine, but wouldnt mind a solid shot with it. dont think it would make me convert though...

i pulled the trigga on jjxl and its the biz, non destructive chopping while the sequence is playin is my type of workflow and fact next pad is playing corresponding sample is all I wished for in mpc

my cursor buttons can chill out a bit more, already been through a right side pcb board, about due for another....

This dude/girl will NEVER get what they want without practice and patience, plain and simple. There is no magic formula. I don't know why people can't understand that. Practice practice practice, no amount of question asking will get you there.

This is exactly how I started in '90 with my R8 and in '94 with my asr10, and THEN I got into manuals and features more but I can do both now, no problem. Even though some documentation is written and presented in a jacked up manner it's still there and it does serve a purpose, some more than others, but still go through it if you have a chance.
